Mid-State District is offering the Advanced Lay Speaking Course "Lay Speakers Preach" May 19 and June 2 from 9:00-3:30 at Community UMC in Columbia. Participation both Saturdays is required.
This course, led by Rev. Mark Dumas and Rev. Ellen Hoff, helps lay speakers develop, improve, and refine their preaching skills. Participants will learn tips for writing and delivering an effective sermon. Participants will prepare and deliver their own sermon as part of the class.

This event will be held at the Conference Center. The event starts at 10 AM on Monday, May 21 and will end at 8:30 PM that day with dinner at 6 PM. It will then run from 8:30 AM - 12:30 PM on Tuesday, May 22.
