Camper progresses to assistant site director

Ray Varner has been at Camp Galilee for 15 years, or since he first attended camp there in the third grade. At age 15 he became a counselor, then moved on to event director and core staff. He is now the assistant site director for the camp.

Varner graduated in May 2012 from Missouri State University with a degree in Physical Education K-12. He got engaged at camp, and then got married at camp August 4, 2012. This summer he rededicated his life to Jesus alongside of his wife Alexis and her little brother in the pool at Galilee.

In 2008 Varner created a Christian running organization called Cross Country Missions. He hosts fun runs to raise money for mission work around the country and world.
