Adam Mustoe chosen for 2012 Reaching Out Award
Adam Mustoe, Living Word Church Associate Pastor – Youth, was presented with the 2012 Reaching Out Award, recognizing St. Louis nonprofits and volunteers, on Tuesday, September 25. Adam received this award for his outstanding volunteer efforts (DJing dances, sharing his musical gifts and hosting worship services) at Epworth Children and Family Services.
Epworth serves more than 5,000 troubled youth and their families from the St. Louis metropolitan area each year. Mustoe said “What keeps me coming back is the kids’ resilience. I want to show them the world isn’t an awful place all the time. You can’t control the circumstances that happened to you, but what you can do is control your response and not let your circumstances be a sentence for you.” He was one of five award winners chosen from seventy nominees.
