Youth Initiatives in Mozambique
Youth for Youth!
In 2007 Missouri youth began a tradition of designation all or part of their offering at the annual WOW event to a youth initiative in Mozambique, Missouri�s covenant partner conference. That year the event raised about $2,000 USD and the offering funded an HIV/AIDS project by the United Methodist Youth Society in southern Mozambique. The theme of the initiative was �Pray for a life and Save the life� Youth Against HIV/AIDS. A report of that initiative can be viewed or downloaded here.

�We, the youth of the Mozambique South Annual conference, we thank the Youth of Missouri Annual conference for this gift to the Project related the fight against HIV/AIDS. We assure you we will use the funds for the purpose stated in order to reduce the infections with the disease in the youth conference and in the community as well. We hope to continue this partnership with you for the future support for the young people in Mozambique.�
In 2008 Missouri youth designated � of their offering to the similar youth project in northern Mozambique and the other � to Nothing But Nets. In the northern conference, in addition to the HIV/AIDS workshops, bed-nets to prevent malaria will be distributed through the United Methodist Youth Society in northern Mozambique. We look forward to hearing a report of this project.
