Nothing But Nets in Mozambique

Insecticide treated bed-nets are being distributed through the UMC in Mozambique from Missouri "Nothing But Nets" funds!

• 1,000 bed-nets were distributed in December 2007 through the Annual Conference session of the United Methodist Church in Mozambique. 500 nets were distributed in the south and 500 in the north – complete with training on usage and a method of tracking. 
   
• 40 bed-nets were distributed and training provided at the Hanhane Women's Shelter (near Massinga) during April 2008. 
   
• 70 bed-nets were supplied to United Methodist Cambine Seminary for all student and instructor housing. 
   
• 40 bed-nets were supplied to Ricatla Ecumenical Seminary for all student and instructor housing.  

To date, not including past supplies of nets contributed to Chicuque Rural Hospital through mission teams, 1,160 nets have been distributed.  Missouri mission teams are being asked to distribute nets at their work-sites in 2008, and there is plenty of native leadership who can provide the needed training in the community.

The Missouri Conference continues to receive funds for Nothing But Nets in Mozambique through account number #7390. You can make your contribution (payable to your local church or to the Missouri Conference) through your church and have it sent to Missouri Conference Treasurer's Office, 3601 Amron Court, Columbia, MO 65202, marked "7390 Nothing But Nets".

Individuals may also contribute directly though the Missouri Conference treasurer’s office by making checks payable to “Missouri Conference” and marked “#7390 Nothing But Nets – Mozambique” and mailing to the same address in Columbia.
